Music Review: Collective Soul’s single “Cut the Cord” – Release date July 26, 2022
Collective Soul’s latest rock ’n’ roll romp “Cut the Cord” has all the ingredients you’d expect in an alternative track. From the face-melting guitar solo, to the driving palm-muted rhythms and a particular brand of audible angst that’s borderline sensual, there’s plenty to sink your teeth into. This frustrated revenge track is about getting out of a toxic relationship that’s a hard habit to break.
“Watch me laugh, make me cry, tell me what it’s all for” sums it up pretty well, inspiring the listener to reflect on their own complicated feelings because let’s face it – we’ve all been there one time or another. Thankfully, Collective Soul just blessed us with the breakup anthem of the summer, so you can start fresh – at least until it happens all over again. Blare this one loud enough to wake the neighbors and rock out along with your newfound independence.
“Cut The Cord” from Collective Soul’s highly anticipated 11th studio album, VIBRATING. It’s due out August 12 on their label, Fuzze-Flex Records via AMPED Distribution, and pre-orders are available now on CD, vinyl and digital formats.
