Music Review: The Persian Leaps – “Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget”-August 17, 2022
Maybe it is time to recognize that summertime and good power pop singles are just made for each other, like strawberries and cream (oh, let’s not forget well chilled champagne).
One important thing there- that song has to be great, some heavy harmonies and ringing guitars are definitely obligatory.
That is where Drew Forsberg and his Minneapolis cohorts that go under the name of The Persian Leaps and their version of ‘Maybe the Time Will Let Me Forget’ comes in.
Originally performed by Dan Fogelberg and John Asher (actually, Forsberg’s uncle), The Persian Leaps give it that guitar and harmony touch that is perfect for the summer (with no rain or heatwaves), and quite a good dose of those strawberries, cream (and, possibly champagne).
Tight, melodious and utterly uplifting, and something to definitely be included on those playlists that you play in your car with all the windows down. A perfect teaser for their upcoming EP in October.
