Rock At Night has been enamored with Orlando-based hard rock band Kings County for a few years. During this time, they released a blazing cover of Flock of Seagull’s “I Ran” and exuded full-on grunge glory in “Equilibrium” and “My Addiction.” Also, we were thrilled to observe the band’s filming of the “My Addiction” video, which included an actress wrapped in cellophane and attached to a giant plastic web. With music recording and mixing by Grammy award-winning producer Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Soundgarden) of Pearl Sound Studios, Michigan, and slick music videos, the band focuses on quality in every phase of music production.
Rock At Night caught up with the band during a live performance at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa. When asked about the band’s appearance at Blue Ridge Rock Festival in early September, Rob Dexter (vocals/bass) indicated it was “one of those experiences you dream about as a kid.” Held at Virginia International Raceway, the annual festival attracts approximately 40,000 attendees, and the lineups make metalheads salivate.
“Now that we are in the throes of 2023, what is on the horizon for Kings County?” we asked.
Dexter said the band would perform at Rock Fest, which will be held this year in Cadott, Wisconsin between July 13th and 15th. The headliners for the festival include such bands as Slipknot, Pantera, and Godsmack. He also noted the band has been recording new material with Alkazian and promises the new songs will be “hard-hitting.” In addition, a production company out of Miami will create new and exciting videos to accompany the singles.
