Rock At Night Says: Their newest single, “Set Me Off”, is from their upcoming EP, Firebirds, and Aviators. Scott says he wrote “Set Me Off” a couple of years back to comment on the horrifying mass shootings happening in the United States. He wanted to put himself in the shoes of the brothers, sisters, and parents who lost their loved ones to the violence that is plaguing our country. With all these issues occurring in the world, it is valid to imagine what would happen if it happened to your loved ones. It pushes people to realize what they would do for a loved one.
“Set Me Off” is a powerhouse track that makes one want to dance in the back of a general admission concert. You can hear the early influences from, Lynyrd Skynyrd to Led Zeppelin. The sound of true rock and roll comes flowing in. People ask from all over to bring that raw sound back, and The Summit is doing just that. From the guitar solos to the bass and drumline to the powerhouse vocals, the track is freeing. It almost adds to that running fuel that is built up in someone. There is nothing but soul in this. “Rock and roll is for the soul,” they say.
