Graham and the Band Upstairs-“Home to You”-Release date: February 3, 2023
With all the rocking and rolling, often we need to cool down, reminisce and frankly, be sentimental. The music to go along with such a mood is always more than welcome, a good ballad usually being the first choice there.
Well, Atlanta’s Graham And The Band Upstairs might have just come up with a song that would fit such a mood and/or playlist – ‘Home to You.’
Taking cues from the ‘classics’ like Dylan, Neil Young, and the sound of early to mid-seventies California sound, it just might be a perfect foil for a late-night playlist.
Graham Waldrop, the band’s main man explains:
“I’ve always liked songs that feature juxtaposition. Girl by The Beatles is one of the finest examples of this where the melody and Lennon’s vocals creates this sweet bed of breathing grass that you want to just wrap yourself up in. But when you actually listen to the lyrics you realize that the song is anything but sweet. There’s a bitterness behind the lyricism that creates this incredible contrast with the music.“
A great way for Graham And The Band Upstairs to announce their upcoming album in the summer of 2023.
