Review: Odd City’s single “Slink” – Release date February 21, 2023

*The single is from the album Fission

In the latest single by Detroit, Michigan alt-rock band Odd City, listeners are treated to a musical journey through space populated with trippy guitar effects and echoing vocals that span galaxies. With subtle reggae-cognizant syncopated beats and tasteful lead guitar articulations, “Slink” is a multilayered track that audiophiles and casual listeners alike will enjoy.

Thematically, it’s the story of getting away from someone bad for you (maybe with bad intentions, or just energetically bad). The lyric video is also visually appealing, with visuals reminiscent of franchises like Interstellar or Star Trek. It’s the mix and mingle of energies and essences, sonically arranged in this slightly-dark track meant to both haunt and act as a warning for future listeners on this little place we call Earth.

“Slink”, was produced by Super-Producer/Engineer Chuck Alkazian (Pop Evil, Soundgarden, Tantric) at legendary Pearl Sound Studios (Asking Alexandria, Eminem, Filter) Canton, MI.
