EP Review: Robert John & The Wreck’s One of a Kind-Release date: March 10, 2023
Fans of Southern roots rock, and up-tempo guitar-led rock are surely already familiar with this Southern California quartet comprised of Robert Jon Burrison (lead vocals, guitar), Andrew Espantman (drums, background vocals), Henry James Schneekluth (lead guitar, background vocals), and Warren Murrel (bass), this mostly due to their both brash and slick live shows.
Now, this four-track EP demonstrates what the live show stories are all about, with some intense guitars (“Pain No More”), coupled with equally easy-flowing harmonies (“Who Can You Love”), and more of this high-quality stuff in the title track and “Come At Me.” Otherwise, why would top notch producers like Don Was and Dave Cobb get involved in the first place?
