Live Review: The Bobby Lees w/the Shitdels – The Basement, Nashville, TN – April 14, 2023
The show tonight was incredible. The local band the Shitdels were the opening act. At first, the crowd was small since it was early in the evening, but every single person was into the music. The crowd interaction with the band was the best part, as the lead singer conversed casually with the crowd. Their sound was very vintage, which I appreciated, and they put on a very entertaining set.
After the band’s performance, the room was quite packed. You could feel the anticipation as the crowd awaited feminist punk band Bobby Lees. And they did not disappoint, as they gave 110% from the very first note. The crowd showed love in return by singing along, moshing, and absolutely going crazy.
Regarding the music, the killer drums and guitar were unmatched. The bass guitarist was honestly the star of the show. She moved so fast; you could tell she was lost in the music and loved every second of it. The lead singer’s voice was almost addictive, with a raspiness. She had such a unique sound, and it was so cool to hear it live.
The whole band was raging and rockin’ during the show and it was so much fun to watch. They were matching the crowd’s energy, and you could feel the excitement coursing through the whole venue.
It was a fun night of some fantastic punk rock music. Nashville cannot wait to have them back!
