Review: Skin On Flesh’s EP Terrible and Sad –Release date: April 28, 2023

How do you earn your (musical) spot in a video game ‘Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty?’ Well probably with a relentless energy and some nifty post-punk chops that don’t leave melody itself behind.
At least that is something that worked for Skin On Flesh, Michael Sybers and Laura Jimenez, a post-punk duo from Berlin, Germany, whose most recent 3-song EP shows exactly the musical qualities mentioned above. Interestingly enough, the duo combines English and Spanish lyrics here, talking about things like a terrible scene inside a relationship or how sad it is to fall out of love, making the title of the EP quite fitting.
Yet is this almost relentless energy and emotion and high-quality melodies to boot that has earned them not only a musical spot in the above-mentioned video game, but also a spot on the compilation that focuses on new Berlin artists (Listen to Berlin Compilation 2021/2022) and having their music featured in two short films.
Expect more from Skin On Flesh.
