Music Review: Tiger Kid – “Drive” – Release date, May 23, 2023
Back to Eighties is a trend that has been with us for a while, but somehow artist keep on exploring it, and we as listeners don’t seem to get tired of it.
To continue the trend, solo artist Michael Canton has turned his moniker of Tiger Kid into a 5-piece band and has come up with ‘Drive,’ an uplifting single that takes its inspiration from a combination between The Cars and Boston and wraps it up into a modern production veneer to make it truly up to date.
At the moment, Tiger Kid is Michael Canton (lead vocals, guitar), Gaston Brey (lead guitar), Keith Erickson (drums), Cason Cohen (bass, vocals) and Anna Montgomery (keyboards, vocals) and as Canton says, “‘Drive,’ does a great job of capturing that feeling of when you just want to jump in your car and get away from it all. Whether it’s a relationship, dead end job, or just feeling stuck in your life, we’ve all had the thought of just dropping it all and driving into a better situation and starting fresh. The song follows someone who has made that decision and is finding themselves in that act of rebirth through change.”
