Single Review: Chandra – “Lighters to The Sky”-Release date, April 28, 2023
Maybe that red-tinted Mohawk on the cover of Chandra’s latest (fourth) single might indicate that this singer-songwriter from Bristol, England is the reincarnation of all things classic seventies punk, but here Chandra seems to go elsewhere.
With a just his electric guitar and a relatively spare arrangement, Chandra shows why his vocal capabilities have already drawn attention. Taking melodic cues here form the likes of as Chandra Pink, Coldplay and One Republic, it seems that Chandra is not afraid to take on as many pop rock styles as he can.
Commenting on the song, Chandra notes: “I wanted to write a positive, uplifting antidote to the blues. This is basically a love song to all the people who have a dream but are struggling… who know deep down inside what they want to do but can’t find the support they need to follow it through”
As Chandra is already making a name for himself as an artist that is not afraid to tackle any genre, we may expect more musical surprises from this guy.
