Review: Carriers -Blue EP -Release date: September 22, 2023
Cincinnati’s Curt Kiser and his Carriers certainly have something special. Well, after all, for this project Kiser was able to enlist Bryan Devendorf (The National) and John Curley (The Afghan Whigs).
Together, the three musicians have originally worked on an album (‘Now Is The Time For Loving Me, Yourself & Everyone Else,’ recently reissued), and now they have come up with a 40-song EP, simply titled ‘Blue.’
The original album got a lot of praise from other artists. including Sharon Van Etten, Band of Horses and The War on Drugs, and the ‘Blue’ EP will fare no less.
But what about the wider audiences? Well, if they missed Kiser previously, they shouldn’t now, particularly the fans of The National, Afghan Whigs and The War on Drugs, as Carriers share quite a bit in their sound with all of the above.
