Review: Juniper Honey’s single “Another Morning” – Release date August 31, 2023
The fun, upbeat latest track “Another Morning” from Cali-based alt rock band Juniper Honey will take you by surprise in the best way. From the dramatic, rhythmic motifs that lead into the first chorus, to the bright melodies that mix with the thought-provoking lyrics. It’s very comforting for anyone dealing with anxiety to feel heard and understood.
While the lyrics depict stressful feelings so accurately, I love the way they’re contrasted by chords and riffs more cognizant of blue skies and a fresh start. This dichotomy is the secret sauce behind what makes this song such a fun track that will bring new thought-provoking ideas with it. The guitar solo outro also beautifully expands on these points sonically, with its repetitive riffs and fuzzed-out ending, likely to represent the brain fog after weathering a stressful experience. Definitely give this band a chance if you haven’t already.

Who is Juniper Honey?
Juniper Honey is a growing alt-rock band originally out of Southern California, but now based in San Luis Obispo. Original members Jake Hesse (lead vocals, guitar) and Donovan Hess (drums) began their journey together in 2020, playing various venues from SoCal to the Central Coast with their old band. In the later months of 2022, Jake and Don picked up guitarist Cason LeSueur and bassist Josh West to officially form Juniper Honey. With a few homemade numbers, the group immediately hit the studio and plan on releasing their first studio work throughout 2023.
