Review: Millennium Resorts – Happiness-Release date: October 27, 2023
What constitutes happiness is quite a personal thing, and differs from a single person to the next. but for the Austin Texas duo Millennium Resorts, it seems to be a hefty combination of electro and psychedelic pop. After all, their latest single bears exactly that title, “Happiness.” The duo are releasing the single ahead of their concept album that will be released at the end of January 2024.
It seems that Scott Raulie and Jonathan Richerson, who comprise Millennium Resorts like to resort to a few diverging but at the same time complimentary musical sources, from good old Pink Floyd and Radiohead to eighties synth sounds of Cars and more shoegazey artists like My Bloody Valentine to those that currently combine all of those like Tame Impala.
Yet, by judging by their sound here, the duo are forging a sound of their own, and their forthcoming album is something to look forward to.
