Detroit never lacked bands and artists who like their rock on the louder sound of things, from the MC5 and The Stooges, on through the rock decades, up to current times.

Keeping up with the tradition Detroit trio The Idiot Kids are quite intent on keeping up with that tradition, which they have already set through a series of singles and EP’s, starting with their earliest ‘Skeleton Boy/Bonfire’ back in 2018.

Now they are back with another dual single their own ‘Wilted Bloom’ and the cover of ‘Black Me Out’ originally done by Against Me!

So what do we have here? ‘Wilted Bloom’ is another full throttle on garage/post-punk rocker that covers the complete ground from MC5 to Ramones and further on, with some tight playing and excellent vocal harmonies.

‘Black Me Out’ at starts seems like The Idiot Kids in a bit calmer mode, but that is only a bit, as they pick up the pace and do the Against Me! song true justice.

An excellent single that presents The Idiot Kids as a garage rock force to be reckoned with.

Their LP Chapels is set to release Friday December 1st.
