Review: Joe Symes and the Loving Kind – “It’s All Too Late” – Release date: September 29, 2023
The art of a rock trio seems to be dwindling a bit these days. Not many seem to be working these days, with artists opting to go solo, duo or a group with more members.
The keep the ‘trio thing’ alive, we get three guys from, where else, but Liverpool who go under the name of Joe Symes and the Loving Kind.
This three-piece consists of Joe Symes (Vocals/Guitar/Harmonica), Colin White (Drums/percussion/Backing Vocals), and Alan Welsh (Bass Guitar), and their latest single ‘It’s All Too Late’ is an excellent introduction to their upcoming album Portmanteau.
If this song is any indication of the expect from the album, it seems that is going to be a blast. It is a true slice of modern psych pop, with some nifty vocal harmonies and and an excellent set of guitar licks all wrapped around a great melody.
Look for the album Portmanteau in early 2024.
