Review: Dion Smith’s single “Serenity” – Release date January 26, 2024
Hailing from Melksham, a small town outside of Bath, England, producer/songwriter Dion Smith has been churning out original music and videos the last few months. A seasoned guitarist and bassist, he released the Steve Vai/Joe Satriani-ish instrumental, “And So the War Begins,” in September, and later in October, a sizzling cover of Billy Idol’s “Speed.” The Nashville-inspired instrumental “Feels Like Home” was released in time for the holidays.
Smith’s latest single, “Serenity,” and its accompanying video will be available on media platforms on January 26th.
Rock At Night says: Smith’s latest release, “Serenity,” is an acoustic-driven tune with a rich, full sound. Kudos to the production! The lush violins tastefully enhance the Spanish-flavored guitar melody in all the right spots. The video features Smith performing on an acoustic guitar while mysterious images of candles, a brick chamber, and a cloaked and masked figure add an air of mystery to the infectious melody. Be sure to check out both!
Look for Smith’s EP Karma Comes Knocking in March, which features the amazing Cherisse Osei (Simple Minds) on drums.
