Review: INNOVIBRATIONS – “Every Time I Think Of You” – Release date – February 23, 2024
Power pop had its heights back in 1978, and one of the bands that made its name at the time within the genre were The Babys.
One of the songs that made it for the band was a very nice ballad ‘Every Time I Think Of You.’
Now, the musical conglomerate that goes under the name of INNOVIBRATIONS has decided to revive the song for the current times with an excellent arrangement that does this song justice.
So why use the term conglomerate here? Well, because INNOVIBRATIONS is quite a few things at the same time – a production company, a studio, a band, a record label, and as they put it, an opportunity for like-minded people to Create, Innovate and Vibrate.
For the recreation of The Babys song the recording involved quite an array of musicians – Chris Hawkey – Vocals (Fabulous Armadillos, Rocket Club, Chris Hawkey Band), Chloe Lowery – Vocals (Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Yanni), Todd Sucherman – Drums (Styx), Greg Armstrong – Keyboards (Fabulous Armadillos), Matt Kirkwold – Guitars (Rocket Club), Tommy Barbarella – Strings (Prince and the NPG) and Brian HBK – Bass (Hairball), with the whole package produced by Greg Armstrong.
And yes, the song works (again) now in 2024.
