Review: The Outfit’s album Go – Release date: April 19, 2024
Quite a few things can, and are often classified as classic rock, but in many cases it is that hard, biting guitar-driven sound that needs some good vocals to boot and slow down things (at least a bit) when it is necessary. That sound has been around for decades, and when done right, it sounds as good and fresh as it did in its prime.
That is exactly where Chicago quartet The Outfit come in with their latest album simply titled ‘Go.’ Back in 2018 their first single “Soldier Boy” the #34 spot on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Chart, with the band coming strong with a fully-formed sound.
With ‘Go,’ the band confirm that they are a classic (hard) rock force to be reckoned with, with their music getting even harder, tighter with the band in full control of their songwriting, instrumental prowess, and strong vocals.
Surprises? Well, why should there be any, particularly for the fans of fans this guitar-driven sound that surely rocks.
