This is Orlando, Florida and having an outdoor concert at the end of July in 95 degree weather with a heat index of 102 is just something that we love and do. The Ashes Of Leviathan tour is a celebration of Ashes of the Wake, Lamb of God’s fourth studio album that was released in 2004 via Epic Records. The tour includes performing the album in its entirety.

Kicking off with “Laid to Rest” and allowing some of their guests to catch the full experience of being up close to the band by having them in front of the barrier for this first song of the show. Smoke fills the stage, the overhead lighting shoots down, and the music starts as Randy Blythe makes his way to the stage. The roar of the crowd overpowers the sound coming from within the speakers around the stage. Not even halfway through the first song, sweat is pouring off of Randy as he runs around the stage not letting the heat slow him down from giving the best performance that he can.

Randy calmly paces the stage and speaks “Orlando, I know you know the lyrics to this next song. Raise your voices and sing it with me, Florida. Now You’ve Got Something”, The audience joins in as Randy turns the mic towards them “to Die For.” Flames from the pyro blast are shooting up across the middle of the stage from left to right in sync with the beat. Fist and horn coming from the front of the stage, back to the fence on the hill, and from stage right across to stage left.

This was a night that will not soon be forgotten. And just as the night seems to be over with a “Good Night, Orlando”, after a few minutes pause and the chants of “Lamb of God” come from across the crowd, Orlando gets an encore of “Walk With Me in Hell” and “Redneck” from their 2006 album Sacrament.
