Live Review: Dropkick Murphys at the Fillmore, Detroit – September 27, 2024
Last night, Detroit’s Fillmore was the epicenter of a high-energy Celtic punk explosion as the Dropkick Murphys took the stage.
The night kicked off with a rousing performance by The Scratch, whose unique blend of traditional Irish music and punk rock set the tone for the evening. Pennywise followed with a powerful set that obviously included “Bro Hymm” which had the entire venue singing along.
When the Dropkick Murphys finally hit the stage, the energy in the room reached a fever pitch. From the opening notes of “Workers Song” to the final encore, the band delivered a relentless, high-octane performance. Highlights included fan favorites like “Shipping Up to Boston” and “Rose Tattoo”.
The combination of The Scratch’s innovative sound, Pennywise’s punk rock prowess, and the Dropkick Murphys’ legendary stage presence made for an unforgettable night in Detroit. Fans left the Fillmore buzzing with excitement.
The Dropkick Murphys’ just kicked off their U.S Fall tour that will wrap up in Amherst, MA on Oct. 27th.
