Review: Nervous Eaters – Rock ’n’ Roll Your Heart Away – Release date August 23, 2024
Ok, so the gray hairs on the heads of (some) of Boston’s Nervous Eaters, the album title all might indicate the direction where the band’s music is going, something that these days people call ‘classic rock,’ but even if the members of the band were just out of high school and not that city’s music legends, the sound they create on Rock ’n’ Roll Your Heart Away deserves to be called classic.
Not just because it sounds like something that was creates in earlier decades, but because it is good enough standing on its own – sophisticated, detailed power pop with ringing guitars and excellent vocals, all done over equally great (obviously experienced) songwriting.
Songs like ‘Don’t Need to Make You Mine’ or ‘Just or You’ are exactly those you have been missing on your summer ope window playlists, tapes or whatever media you prefer, to recreate the joy of summer, which Nervous Eaters had the good nerve to bring to us.
