Review: Geoff Gibbons – Beautiful Broken Things – Release date November 18, 2024
Are there enough soulful, bluesy singles around these days?
Here to answer that question, with so many releases available, but there probably aren’t that many as good as “Beautiful Broken Things” by Vancouver’s singer songwriter Geoff Gibbons.
Composed, played and sung in manner of those soul/blues classics that permeated the late sixties and early seventies, coupled by some quite heartfelt lyrics it is one of those songs that just can fit any mood, any playlist and played at any point during the day (or night).
“Everyone has their battle scars,” says Gibbons. “This song is about honoring those experiences—about acknowledging the mistakes, the missed chances, and the moments we can’t take back, while recognizing that through it all, there’s always another day, and we are all in essence still beautiful.”
One of those singles that shouldn’t be missed.
