When I think about my favorite female guitar-playing blues singers, Ana Popovic, Sue Foley, and Bonnie Raitt are at the top of the list. But recently, I had the pleasure of hearing a young lady of immense talent with whom you may already be familiar. Her name is Hannah Wicklund, and she is about to release a new live album, Live at The Troubadour, which will, simply put, turn you into an instant fan. Her direct and down-to-earth style, in addition to her excellent guitar work and powerful voice, is helping her climb the ladder of success.

Live at The Troubadour is an album filled with great vocals and songwriting and a backing band that is spot on. This band gives an electrifying performance from the beginning, and the audience shows appreciation throughout the live recording.

Some of the highlights of this fifteen-song masterpiece include ‘Witness,’ ‘Can’t Get Enough,’ ‘Sun to Sun,’ ‘Bomb Through the Breeze,’ and fan favorite ‘Song Bird Sing.’ I enjoyed ‘Jam in E Minor,’ which allowed Hannah to introduce each band member and included some fantastic guitar playing from Ms. Wicklund. Throughout this album, Hannah Wicklund interacts with her audience, and it becomes clear that she loves and appreciates every one of her fans.

Live at The Troubadour is set to be released on March 7, 2025, and is undoubtedly one of the best live albums I have heard recently.
