Review: Triptides – Leave Your Body Behind – Release date: January 31, 2025
For years now, Triptides have been an intriguing fixture on the Southern California music scene. While many label their sound as ‘psychedelic,’ Triptides’ main brains Glenn Brigman and Stephen Burns have their songwriting focus only on one thing – whatever sounds good.
And that ‘good’ can come from anywhere, sixties psych, prog rock, jazz or Laurel Canyon sound, you name it, and if it can work on the dance floor, Triptides will do it to.
Yet, such a variety in sound can turn into one big mess unless you are able to do it all, and as this sort of a best so far album shows, Triptides go beyond just well and land in one of those musical treasures that need to be more widely discovered.
