Russian ska band Distemper blows the roof off in Berlin

Distemper

By Rick Slagter, Rock At Night Groningen, The Netherlands Correspondent in  Berlin

Venue: Clash in Kreuzberg, Berlin, Germany

The Moscovian band Distemper started in 1989 as a hardcore punk band, the breakthrough came when the added in 1995 a brass section to combine punk with ska and created an own sound. On stage Distemper is an explosion of brutal positive energy, which makes the audience go crazy. The band is one of the most successful Russian groups in Europe

Distemper takes part in various international music festivals and often as headliners–but they never forget the smaller venues in town. RAN shot Distemper straight from the mosh pit while the band was blowing off the roof at Clash, in Kreuzberg, Berlin, Germany.

Distemper is:  Viacheslav “Dacent” Biryukov – vocals; Sergei “Bai” Baibakov – drums; Constantine – bass; Alexey – guitar; Vasily – trombone; Sergey – Sax; Yury – trumpet
