Is it rock ’n’ roll? Is it garage? Is it punk? No. It’s traumahelikopter. A high powered trio with two guitarists and a drummer playing on a minimized rockabilly drum set, with only a floor, snare and a cymbal. And no capital in the name. They are based in Groningen, The Netherlands, a city with a long tradition of all kinds of garage rock.
The band started in 2010, played in 2013 at the famous SXSW event in Austin, Texas, USA and a couple of months prior to that, the Dutch/European compeer ESNS. At the end of 2016 traumahelikopter released the third album Competition Stripe and is busy with the related club tour. The album reviews are very good and the concerts are energy bombs with blow-the-roof-off character. RAN captured the band at Podium Asteriks, Leeuwarden, The Netherlands.
Traumahelicopter is: Mark Lada (vocals, guitar), Daan van Dalen (guitar, vocals), Roel van Merlot (drums, vocals).
