The Tea Party brought their new, thirty plus stop international “20 Years of Transmission” tour to Brantford’s Sanderson Center on February 17th. The Tea Party is a three-member band originating out of Windsor Ontario Canada, consisting of Jeff Martin [lead vocals, guitar, sitar], Stuart Chatwood [bass, keyboards] and Jeff Burrows [drums, percussion].

In 1997, The Tea Party released their fourth studio album titled Transmission.  This album went on to reach double platinum status in the country, and hit No. 3 on the Canadian charts while also earning the band a Juno nomination.
Whether The Tea Party is playing in front of over 10,000 people at a festival or the smaller crowd of 1,100 at the Sanderson Center the band performs with enormous energy on stage from the first song until the last.  As this is the 20th anniversary tour of the Transmission album the band played the album in its entirety including the song Embryo that was originally hidden in the pregap area between songs Babylon and Pulse on the original album.

Between songs Jeff Martin would tell the audience a fact or story about how the upcoming song had come to be written as well as some of the meanings about the entire album.  The song Aftermath was dedicated to David Bowie with Jeff saying that without his influence the album Transmission would never have happened.

After they finished playing the entire Transmission album the band took a twenty-minute break with Jeff asking the audience to please buy their merch to help put their kids through college.  Once the band returned from their break they tore the roof off The Sanderson Center with Writings on the Wall from their sixth album Seven Circles and continued until their very last note of the night.  The crowd won’t soon forget this musical night as they spent the entire night on their feet and singing along to every song that the band played.
