What is not to love about LA band the Glam Skanks! Like a bottle of champagne with a big pop of personality followed by sparkling awesomeness they rocked the Keswick Theatre in Pennsylvania as the supporting act for Adam Ant’s tour, Kings of the Wild Frontier. With an edge and style of music reminiscent of 70’s glam rock, these ladies are a powerhouse of talent and energy. They packed a surprising punch to those not familiar with the music. As a music journalist I’m used to people ignoring opening acts which in my opinion is downright disrespectful but these ladies broke the tradition and darn it, they earned that respect when people ran to get their seats. After the show I picked up one of their single vinyl records which came in fabulously red vinyl. Make sure to give this power girl band a listen because they will not disappoint.
The lovely ladies from California are Ali Cat on vocals, Veronica on guitar, Millie on bass, and the newest member Cassie on drums. Their latest album is Glitter City.
