RaN 2015-04-10 Model_Depose 00 wmWhen you put 80s and 90s New Wave and Synthpop in a shaker and spice it up with modern electronica and rock music and Dutch creativity you get a tasteful cocktail called Model Depose.

Strong vocals filled with emotion, blistering synthesizer melodies, wavy rocking guitars and an organic, grooving rhythm section is what makes this band stand out. The music evokes associations with bands as Joy Division, The Cure, Depeche Mode, but definitely have their own sense of style.

Model Depose started off in 2009 and through the years they developed their own unique sound. The band won second place in an important Dutch band contest in 2013 and toured in the Dutch club circuit, many times as support act for several international bands. In 2015 they will tour Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium and France.

On the 10th of April, Model Depose released their full-length album Splitting Light at Vera, a famous venue in Groningen, The Netherlands.

“We used crowdfunding to finance the album,” guitar player Jobbe Holtes told Rock At Night before the show. He continued, “It took over a year to write all of the songs and record them. And it ’s a very special album with a very special folded paper cover, designed by me.” Indeed, check the unpack video below.

The four men and one woman Model Depose performed a show so hot the venue almost melted down.  Model Depose is definitely a band on fire!
