The Bob Marley All Star Show featuring former ‘Wailer’ vocalist Lazo and his 10 piece all-star band hit the stage at The Sanderson Centre this past Friday celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the release of Exodus. Exodus was the ninth studio album by Jamaican reggae recording band Bob Marley and the Wailers, first released 3 June 1977. The album was a success both critically and commercially; it received goldcertifications in the US, UK and Canada, and was the album that propelled Marley to international stardom.
Lazo is a Reggae musician from Castle Bruce, Dominica now living in Canada. In 2010, Lazo toured the United States and South America playing as a member of The Wailers. As Lazo entered the stage singing the first song “Roots Rock Reggae” the energetic crowd at The Sanderson Centre jumped to their feet to dance and sing along with him. Many members of the audience stayed on their feet dancing and singing to 18 song set that ended with everybody’s favorite “One Love”.
Following a couple of minutes of applauds and cheers from the audience Lazo and the band returned to the stage to perform a couple of encore songs. The entire evening felt more like a party then a concert.
