Venue: El Club-July 27, 2017
The Melvins played a short but amazing set at the El Club on July 27th 2017 in support of their latest album A Walk With Love & Death. I have to say out of all of the shows I’ve shot in the past years, this was definitely one of the hardest show to attend as well to shoot. The venue was fully packed that it was definitely hard to move around. I’m glad this venue has a nice patio area for those that are in need of a break or get some fresh air.
The Melvins opened up their set doing a cover of “Sacrifice” by Flipper. Other cover songs were The Beatles’ “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” and David Bowie’s “Saviour Machine”. Some of the songs that Melvins played from their new albums were “Edgar The Elephant”, “Sober-delic (Acid Only). The Melvins also played some of the fans’ favorites such as “”Onions Make the Milk Taste Bad”, “Anaconda”, “Oven” and my fave “Queen”.
I am still disappointed that the set was cut off short to due to the fire marshall– but from what I heard, The Melvins played a great set.
The Melvins are on tour for 12 weeks, so if you have the chance to go see one of the great metal bands of all-time, click on the link for more information: The Melvins Tour Dates
