A NEW TOMORROWAlessio Garavello: Lead Vox, Guitars
Andrea Lonardi: Bass, Backing Vocals
Tim Hall: Drums
ROCK AT NIGHT: What are your musical roots? What bands did you listen to growing up and who are your influences?
Alessio: Since I was a kid I’ve listened to a lot of music and started to play the clarinet when I was six years old. My first listens were bands that my father was listening to like Pink Floyd, The Eagles, Queen and artists like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and a lot of classical music. Growing up I’ve then discovered 2 bands who changed my life forever: Megadeth and Metallica. From there I’ve moved to Sepultura, Pantera and a looot of English and American hard rock bands. I would say that I’m still influenced by Real bands who play organic and hard hitting music.
ROCK AT NIGHT: Who does the songwriting and how would you describe your music? What message are you trying to get across, if any?
Alessio: We write the songs together and anyone of us can come up with the first idea to put on the drawing table. The Lyrics come mainly from me and are completed together with Andrea and Tim. Being the singer I find it easier to sing about common band’s thoughts in my own words. It is really important for me to feel things more than just ¨saying¨ things.
Our music is a mix of powerful riffs and melodies and this comes from the fact that we all have different musical backgrounds and that we all listen to a lot of different styles of music and decided not to put any boundaries on the songwriting.
With our songs we love to spread a message of hope and believe. There’s a lot of people giving up in life. Giving up on dreams, love and many other things. We strongly believe that there will always be a chance to change what we don’t like in our lives and get stronger from painful or disappointing situations. There will always be a chance to start again with a new day, a chance to get a new and better tomorrow.
ROCK AT NIGHT: I notice you have a lot of press in Italian magazines and have played a lot of gigs there. I’d like to know more about this….
Alessio: Having been playing in a lot of Italian bands before moving to the UK and having a huge help from what we like to call our 4th member Matteo (Andrea’s brother, who is dealing on behalf of the band with most of the Italian magazines) we are having a good following and press critique from Italy. We play few Italian shows every year and getting better and better response. We toured few times with a great hard rock band called The Roadless.
ROCK AT NIGHT: Do you have any upcoming tours planned? Have you ever played in the U.S.?
Alessio: Oh man we would love to play the U.S. But we haven’t been that lucky yet. Hopefully it will happen at some point and when that will happen I’ll be happy to have a few pints for you guys!!!
We recently decided to concentrate on writing our very first full length album a d after that we will attack the world stronger than ever!!
ROCK AT NIGHT: Since I play music, I’m always interested in knowing about gear. Do you favor any kind of guitars, amps, or effects?
Alessio: I’ve played and endorsed quite few guitar brands over the years and found now peace with a small but very prolific Italian artisanal brand called Brod Guitars! They basically create the guitars that I want with the specs I like and I’m very satisfied with the results! Just got a new Korina Explorer which I Love.
Amp wise I’ve been using my Brunetti amps for quite a while now. How endorsement deals started in 2007 when I was still in Arthemis and Power Quest. Love their dynamic tone and the versatility of the products, which for me are probably the most important characteristics.
Pedal wise I use Boss and Dunlop pedals. I just find them clean sounding and very durable. I use a chorus, a phaser, a delay, a wah and a noise suppressor in my pedal board.
ROCK AT NIGHT: Who is an artist you have always wanted to see in concert but never had the opportunity?
Alessio: I’ve actually been lucky enough to have seen a lot of my favourite artists during the years and actually to have shared the stage with them. I probably would love to have seen Led Zeppelin and Van Halen back in the glorious moments.
ROCK AT NIGHT: Is there anything you would want people out there to know about the band or its music?
Check out our music and Rock!!
