Betty Serveert

In 2016 The Dutch band Bettie Serveert (English: ‘Bettie serves’) celebrated their twenty-fifth anniversary with the release of the album Damaged Good. Bettie refers to Betty Stöve, a Dutch former professional tennis player, who is best remembered for reaching the ladies’ singles final at Wimbledon in 1977.

The band has been a couple of times in the USA. In 2003 and 2005 to support American/Canadian album releases and in 2004 to play at SXSW. The music of ‘De Betties’ (their Dutch pet name – the band is very popular) may be described as mid and up tempo indie rock songs with inventive guitar riffs, fierce rhythms, and a steady but melodic bass. Damaged Good has received favourable reviews. Some of them called it “the best album of the band till now.”

In 2017 the band started a successful club and festival tour, to support the release of the new album, and will continue in 2018.  Rock At Night (RAN) caught the band at the venue Het Bolwerk at Sneek, The Netherlands, which turned out to be a very good show. Bettie Serveert is still growing after 25 years.

Bettie Serveert is: Carol van Dyk (vocals & guitar), Peter Visser (guitar), Herman Bunskoeke (bass guitar), Joppe Molenaar (drums).
