Venue: Mohegan Sun Arena, Uncaseville, Connecticut-Monday May 28, 2018
With a fog machine set on full blast and a backlit stage, Brothers T.J. (lead vocals),and John Osborne (lead guitar) could barely be seen at times but they certainly could be heard. T.J.’s bottom heavy baritone plays well against brother John’s shredding guitar riffs on songs “Down Home”, “Greener Pastures” and a honky tonk influenced , “Drink Like Hank”. But these brothers showed they can play more than country as evidenced with anthem “Na Na Hey Hey”, a funky “Papa was a Rolling Stone”, and a fantastic guitar instrumental of The Beatles “Hey Jude”. The Brothers Osborne continued with their best known hits “Rum” and “It Ain’t My Fault” bringing the crowd to their feet.
After their 15 song set, they thanked the audience and attempted to leave but the sold out crowd would have none of that. The band seemed genuinely surprised when they were called out for an encore. They apparently didn’t have anything prepared. so T.J . simply asked the audience what they wanted to hear and proceeded to do a four song encore, sending the satiated crowd home singing a John Denver cover of “Take Me Home, Country Roads”.
