Venue: The Narrows Center for the Arts, Fall River, Massachusetts-Crash Test Dummies Celebrate 25th Anniversary of “God Shuffled His Feet” At The Narrows
with Opener Danielle Miraglia
Canadian rockers Crash Test Dummies reunited for the first time in 17-years to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their seminal sophomore album God shuffled His Feet. Featuring the original line-up of Brad Roberts, Ellen Reid, Dan Roberts, and Mitch Dorge, The Crash Test Dummies played the entire 1993 platinum selling and Grammy-nominated album “God Shuffled His Feet” album as well as many other songs.
One of rock’s most distinguishable voices, Brad Roberts (vocals, guitar) brought his distinctive bass-baritone voice, on the quirky “How Does A Duck Know”, “Afternoons and Coffeespoons,” and the title cut, ‘God Shuffled His Feet”. Said Brad “We’re celebrating the 25th anniversary reuniting with our original line-up and dusting off our old set lists. It’s the first time we’ve toured with the full band since 2001, and we’re very excited about it.”
As promised, The Crash Test Dummies filled an 18 song set by dusting off old hits, “Superman’s Song”, The Psychic”, “Two Knights & Maidens”, and many others. The Crash Test Dummies finished the night off with their mega hit “MMMM, MMMM, MMMM, MMMM,” much to the delight of the satiated fans.
Massachusetts native Danielle Miraglia was impressive as well. Playing without her band, “The Glory Junkies”, Danielle is worth the price of admission all by herself. Her bluesy smokey voice on “All My Hero’s Are Ghosts” beautifully transitioned to an edgier rasp on a Janis Joplins cover really demonstrated her stylistic range while the burlesque “Aim Low” showed off her songwriting tongue in cheek sense of humor. Danielle M and The Glory Junkies are nominated for a 2018 Boston Music Award for “Blues Artist of the Year”.
