Toadies tour on brink of releasing new album in September

Toadies Announce New Album: ‘Heretics’ Out September 18th

8th Annual Dia De Los Toadies Festival in Ft. Worth, TX Sept. 11th & 12th

Toadies On Tour in July and August!

DSC_1173-1-2June 29th – Ft. Worth, TX: Toadies will release their next album Heretics on September 18th via Kirtland Records. The album is a bit of a departure for the band, although still retaining that Toadies vibe, featuring deconstructed and acoustically re-arranged fan favorites, two brand new songs, a surprising cover, and a previously unreleased track. The idea to re-work some material acoustically was born at the 2008 Dia De Los Toadies Festival, frontman Vaden Lewis recalls:  “We kept the crowd a little smaller, and kept the vibe more chill.” The panicked Toadies fan might ask, ‘Chill, in what sense? How do the songs change?’ Lewis says they evolved not only to be played on acoustic guitars, but with different instrumentation. And it was good. “It’s been great,” Lewis says, “because our fans have been hands-down very accepting of whatever bizarre twist we’ve taken.” Heretics is the follow up to the band’s last studio album, 2012’s PLAY.ROCK.MUSIC as well as their platinum-selling Rubberneck which saw a 20th anniversary re-release last year. The band will launch Heretics at their Dia De Los Toadies festival in September and follow with a headline tour in November. They will also be hitting the road next month as part of the Summerland Tour.

_DSC0051-1-2Toadies will be putting on their annual music festival Dia De Los Toadies September 11th and 12th on the banks of the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion. For the third year in a row, Dia is returning to Toadies hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. The festival is celebrating its eighth year and keeping the tradition alive with local Texas talent as well as national acts hand-picked by the band.

Dia de los Toadies kicks off the first night on September 11th with an almost-acoustic performance by the Toadies at The Shack on Panther Island Pavilion with Dallas’s own Sarah Jaffe playing a rare solo acoustic opening set. The night will be extra special as it’s the release party for Heretics.   Festival goers purchasing a Friday ticket or weekend pass will receive a signed copy of Heretics at Dia – a week before the street date!

DSC_1160-1The second day of Dia De Los Toadies will take place across two stages on September 12th. This year’s line-up includes Burden Brothers, Local H, Holy Moly, Buck Pets, Sealion, Son of Stan, and Gollay. Dia de los Toadies promises the best beer (Including their own limited batch of Toadies Bockslider Beer brewed by Martin House), finest of food trucks, and a hell of a rock show curated by the Toadies themselves.

Prior to the festival, Toadies will be hitting the road for the Summerland tour with Everclear, Fuel and American Hi-Fi. The tour kicked off June 11th in Fort Meyers, FL and wraps up in Riverside, CA on August 16th. Tickets for all upcoming shows are available at www.thetoadies.com.
