Venue/Event: Into the Great Wide Open Festival-Vlieland, The Netherlands-August 30, 2019
Last week The Murder Capital performed at the Into The Great Wide Open festival held in Vlieland, an island in The Netherlands. RAN was there and almost got lost in the moshpit! Hailing from Dublin, The Murder Capital is James McGovern Damien Tuit, Cathal Roper, Gabriel Paschal Blake, and Diarmuid Brennan.
You could describe the music of The Murder Capital as a potent mix of existentialism and post-punk fury. According to many music platforms this band adds fire to Ireland’s rock revival. Last summer The Murder Capital released their debut album When I Have Fears which has received many rave reviews and accolades. No wonder the band has a respectable tour schedule in Great Britain and Europe till the end of this year. I imagine the band will continue its upward movement through the year 2020, gaining more and more fans along the way.
On stage, The Murder Capital is even more intense and furious than on their album. Giving the audience a chance to recover, the band had a brief subdue moment. The next song worked as a fuse in the powder keg, as the audience broke into full moshpit mayhem. During the finale, the lead singer and guitar player dove from the stage into the mosh pit, topping off what was a frenetic and exhilarating show!
