This past weekend I caught up with a local band from Raleigh, NC, Down By Five, while sharing the stage with Los Stellarians (ft. SA Martinez of 311).
Formed in 2010, Down By Five is a four-piece Rock/Alternative band from Raleigh, North Carolina. Rooted in the 90s alternative movement, the band lets its influences show, while continuously exploring musical avenues that stretch and bend the sound into something wholly unique. From hard rock to reggae, the songs deftly twist and turn through genres of the past and present, while forging something new for the future.
As of 2019, Down By Five has released five collections of songs that cover a range of feeling, emotion, political and social issues. At times introspective, the band also has a voice that urges the listener to stand for something bigger than the individual. Check out the photo gallery from the show below:
