Venue: Mohegan Sun Arena-Uncasville, Connecticut-Saturday September 28, 2019–The Chainsmokers with Lennon Stella and 5 Seconds of Summer
With the electro-pop dance music of the Chainsmokers blaring, the young Mohegan Sun audience went wild when Drew Taggart and Alex Pall exploded onto the stage. The DJ’s and production duo along with their tour members, played non stop through hits including, “Paris”, “Sick Boy”, and “Everybody Hates Me”. However it was their first number one Billboard hit “Closer”, that was clearly the crowd favorite.
Opening the night was the former Nashville star, Lennon Stellar, playing more edgy pop these days than country. While Stellar played the shortest set of the night, she stole the show with “Feelings”, “La Di Da”, “Bad”, and “BITCH” (it takes one to know one). While Lennon’s vocals were soft and sweet when she sang country, they also lend themselves well to these harder and sharper tones.
Through a thick smoke and ridiculously dark light show, 5 Seconds of Summer played the between set. Barely viewable to most of the crowd, 5SOS songs “She Looks So Perfect”, “Easier”, “Ghost of You”, and “Jet Black Heart”, were well received by the cellphone waving audience.
When the night finished, autumn had fallen on 5 Seconds Of Summer, everyone was high with The Chainsmokers, but Lennon was “stellar”, as she stole the show.
