Dutch mod band Orange Skyline wows crowd at Simmerdeis Festival

By Rick Slagter, Groningen Correspondent

Orange Skyline are an up and coming Dutch indie band formed in 2012. They are inspired by the sixties, mainly mod bands and Gainsbourgian French pop. The songs and the sound are catchy, like their stage act.

Their success streak started with the winning of the POP Groningen Talent Award 2013 and last year they won “second best” in the band contest Global Battle Of The Bands. This summer they are appearing in many festivals, mostly in The Netherlands, but more and more they cross the borders to other European countries.

Rock At Night captured Orange Skyline recently at the Dutch open air festival Simmerdeis.

Orange Skyline is Stefan van der Wielen (leadvocals, guitar), Niels van der Wielen (guitar, vocals), Simon Christiaanse (bass, backing vocals), Mart Atema (drums, backing vocals)
