Gasparilla Music Fest Hosting Music Instrument Drive and Free Concert

Gasparilla Music Fest

The Gasparilla Music Foundation (GMF) and its Recycled Tunes program will hold a Musical Instrument Drive benefitting bay area schools on Saturday, December 7th from noon until 4pm at Sparkman Wharf in downtown Tampa.  GMF will be accepting new and gently used instruments in exchange for a FREE 2-DAY general admission ticket to the Gasparilla Music Festival taking place March 7-8, 2020.

Donate a Gently Used Instrument and Receive a FREE Ticket to the Festival

Instruments received by Recycled Tunes are refurbished (if necessary) and donated to Title 1 schools in the Tampa Bay area. The program also provides repairs, gear, and other supplies such as strings, sticks and bows for music classrooms. In 2019, Recycled Tunes has provided over 350 instruments to classrooms supporting over 1,000 children.  While there is a need for a broad range of instruments, Recycled Tunes’ current priority needs for classrooms are for brass, woodwind and string instruments.

“Our goal is to ensure that every child has access to musical instrument and to support our amazing music teachers so they can focus on teaching,” said Cameron Williams, Recycled Tunes’ Director.

Taking place alongside the instrument drive will be a FREE concert on the lawn at Sparkman Wharf.
