Gulfer

By Anita Stewart, Managing Editor

Montreal, Quebec’s own Gulfer has dropped their third single and video of “Nature Kids” from their self titled, third studio album, that will be released on October 16th and produced through Royal Mountain Records (Canada) and Topshelf Records (US).

The video is a nostalgic romp through the woods making the viewer feel like the protagonist is saying goodbye to his carefree, summer days of youth. A talented young skateboarder weaves throughout the frames either in the woods or in urban settings, clips of gaming, playing drums and the band performing in a misty room or outside surrounded by nature…some beautiful images! The video is ethereal and dreamy in parts and the song is multilayered, orchestrated with great musicianship, especially the guitar work and drums.

The emo/grunge band formed in 2011 and are composed of David Mitchell on bass and vocals, Vincent Ford on vocals and guitar, Joe Therriault guitar and vocals and Julien Daoust on drums. The band has shared the stage with PUP, Joyce Manor, Jeff Rosenstock, Foxing, Into It. Over It. and Title Fight just to name a few. The band’s albums can be purchased through their Bandcamp account which is linked below and CD’s, cassettes and vinyl are all available.
