Rock At Night is intrigued by Arizona band Bear Ghost. We loved their song “Necromancin Dancin” with its fast-paced, upbeat melody, and hints of Oingo Boingo.
Now the band has released a new single “Big Town Banky Blaine’s Rockabilly BBQ”. Mixed by Jeremy Parker (Evanescence, Mudvayne) and mastered by Dan Shike (Meat Puppets, Mayday Parade), this marks the second release from their upcoming 2021 album, “Jiminy”.
According to Bear Ghost: “Big Town Banky Blaine’s Rockabilly Barbecue” tells the story of an eatery patroned by the wealthy upper class who pay to watch the less fortunate engage in fights to the death. Winner gets paid and gets to survive until the next fight. Loser gets cooked and eaten.
Rock At Night says: Raucous, in-your-face, rockabilly swing song with a metaphor that describes class war with cunning and wit. Dark feeling with shades of Oingo Boingo.
