New Single Release: “Sanctify”
August 6, 2021
On the eve of the release of “The Fire Cosmic,” Troy Redfern’s latest full length LP, he has released his latest single, “Sanctify.” Rock at Night reviewed “The Fire Cosmic” last month, you can check that out HERE. The video for this single is a fast tempo, hyper-speed, psychedelic romp, directed by Charlie Smith of Mind Art Visual. The song was written on Troy’s very worn and beat up 1929 National Triolian Resonator that is fast becoming his trademark instrument. Troy describes the new single as a “heavy blues-billy boogie stomp.”
The new album, “The Fire Cosmic,” follows the five albums that Redfern produced and released during the 2020 lockdowns. So far this is unprecedented, we don’t know of any other artist that was able to accomplish the same thing or come even close. This latest album was recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios in North Wales–the same studio where Queen recorded all of their early albums including “Sheer Heart Attack” in 1974 and “A Night at the Opera” in 1975.
This fall Troy is heading out on two upcoming tours as a special guest of both Wille and the Bandits and Robert Jon and the Wreck and in support of this latest album. See the latest tour dates, check out the merch, order the album in all formats including vinyl and super-cool bundles and all other things “Troy Redfern” on his new website right HERE.
Rock at Night says: “Sanctify” is driving, relentless rock and roll with a fast tempo, played hard and crazy sick! Loved this one! Another one that could force me to make bad driving decisions.” On another note, “We also loved the slick and psychedelic vibes on the video. The song itself pays reverent homage to the blues rock guitarists of the 70’s while updating this styling for our times.”
