New Single Release: “Testify”
Release Date: September 10, 2021
Just last week the husband and wife duo, When Rivers Meet released their first cut “Testify” from their upcoming sophomore album “Saving Grace” which will be released on November 19, 2021. The band is based in Essex, UK. These past months have been a watershed time for them, cutting and releasing their first album (“We Fly Free“), winning awards and finally getting the recognition they deserve! The band is Grace Bond on lead vocals, mandolin, violin and Aaron Bond on guitar and vocals.
Last spring, the band set a record by being the first artist or band to win four awards at the UK Blues Awards. The band walked away with “Blues Band of the Year,” “Blues Album of the Year,” “Emerging Blues Artist of the Year,” and “Most Inspirational Online Performance of the Year.” When Rivers Meet were also voted “Best New Band” by the listeners of Planet Rock at the radio station’s “The Rocks” Awards. We covered the award winning ceremonies in a previous post, you can check that out HERE.
The upcoming album, “Saving Grace” follows closely after the release of the album “We Fly Free” (dropped in November 2020) and their duo’s previous two EPs, “The Uprising” and “Innocence of Youth.” As with their previous album and two EPs, the new album “Saving Grace” was recorded at the Boathouse in Suffolk with producer and engineer, Adam Bowers.
“We were very conscious that our debut album “We Fly Free” was a step up in production from our two EP releases previously “The Uprising” EP and “Innocence of Youth,”” says Grace. “We also wanted to keep a live, authentic vibe to the new album to retain the energetic feel in the music.” Says Aaron, “We wanted the album to have more of an upbeat rock feel. We knew exactly what we wanted before we set off to record “Saving Grace.” We set our expectations high. We’re so pleased with the result and just hope everyone else loves it as much as we do!” Tour dates for 2022 are up at the band’s website linked below with special guest Troy Redfern.
About the single and video “Testify” Rock at Night says: “These two and this song are like a blend of fine whiskey, they just go together and the sounds are divine! This is a rocking single with Aaron on guitar and Grace’s powerful vocals and a very sensual performance in the video. At the break, Grace is on violin and there is also a harmonic line from the keys to mash it up all together! They just rock!“
