The Hummingbirds CD/Album Release Party at the Hideaway in St. Petersburg with Special Guests: Will Quinlan and Rebekah Pulley and Rob Pastore
A Sold Out Show that Rocked the Hideaway on Saturday, August 29, 2015
The Hideaway is a great venue, good food, drinks, cozy and intimate. And it was in these down home settings that I met The Hummingbirds, the husband and wife team of SG and Rachel Lynn Wood. They were both gracious enough to speak with Rock at Night before their amazing show. Their music is best described as Alternative Country, Roots and Americana. We had a great 15 minute talk about music, being in the business, their move from Michigan to Florida and so much more.
Some surprises included Rachel Lynn’s teaching career (she works with 3rd graders) and SG’s playing for seniors and his painting projects in his spare time. And they both love to fish so Florida is the perfect place for them to live!
Local artist Will Quinlan opened the show with a short set of very beautiful Folk and Americana originals. Originally hailing from Texas, Will was introduced by Rachel Lynn of the Hummingbirds, as one of her favorite songwriters. The Hummingbirds came on right after and did a rousing set. Then well known locals, Rebekah Pulley and Rob Pastore took the stage with SG joining in on lead guitar. The Hummingbirds closed the show with their final set. With both sets they had performed some of their older material and all of their songs from their new album, 13 Days.
Stellar performances from all of these artists!
Be sure to run, don’t walk to their next events!
