Review: Krooked Tongue’s single “Freaky Love” – Release date is December 10, 2021
Formed in 2019 by Oli Rainsford, Dan Smith and Harry Pritchard, Krooked Tongue is a Bristol-based alternative-rock three-piece known for their frenetic live shows and brooding lyrical commentary. The trio are set to release their long-awaited debut EP ‘No Vacancy Hotel’ on February 11th 2022.
Krooked Tongue released their debut single ‘I Wanna Steal Your Car’ in 2019 to critical acclaim, which soon saw them embarking on their first UK tour. Interest in the band quickly grew, leading them to establish working relationships with the likes of ENTS 24 and Laney Amps.
Rock At Night says: “Freaky Love” is an alt rock song with a dance groove, plenty of “ooh ooh’s” harmonies, and plenty of syncopated guitar riffs and choruses to flesh out the Millennial alt rock feel. “You’re a freaky love–how that turns me on” sings Rainsford. OK…we get the message.
We gave a quick listen to the rest of the No Vacancy Hotel EP and it definitely appeals to those who love modern alt rock. Rock At Night’s fav’ is “Vampyre”, which is a heavier number with an infectious fuzzy guitar groove (hear it below on Spotify and YouTube). Krooked Tongue is definitely a band to watch–and they’ve appeared to hone their songwriting skills during the pandemic.
