Review of the New Relatives’ EP Poor Man’s Sorrow-Release Party – December 17, 2021
To celebrate the release of its debut EP, “Poor Man’s Sorrow,” and as a show of resilience amid a pandemic flare up, Metro Detroit blues rock outfit New Relatives four piece is playing several nearby shows in January, including the 9th at Freddy’s in Clinton Twp. and the 29th as part of a larger bill at the Diesel Concert Lounge in Chesterfield Twp. The band’s release also recently hit the airwaves, with the title track featured on WRIF’s “Motor City Riffs” local music spotlight show.
Rock At Night says:
“‘Poor Man’s Sorrow’ is a highly listenable slow simmer of bluesy fretwork, full-bodied vocals, and lyrics from an adult perspective. Like a nice Scotch, best savored one sip at a time.”
