Worldwide Celtic ska punk band The RumJacks have been very busy since COVID 2020. They added lead singer/songwriter Mike Rivkees to the band, produced a new album Hestia in 2021, and now they are getting ready to release an EP Brass For Gold on February 11, 2022. Look for Rock At Night’s review of this album (hint hint: we love it!). And, did we mention the upcoming tour?
Yes, there is a lot going on with The Rumjacks: video-making in Italy, a tour across America beginning on February 21st with The Dropkick Murphy’s, and much more!
Rock At Night caught up with lead singer/songwriter Mike Rivkees while he was braving the cold in Boston. Rivkees discussed the writing of Brass For Gold; living in Milan, Italy, the ‘home base’ of the band; the making of the video for “Bloodsoaked in Chorus” with Vespas and a crowd of friends; the making “Bounding Main” on a research vessel in Italy to “mimic” Ireland; and the upcoming tour with The Dropkick Murphys, Flatfoot 56, and The Bombpops.
The Rumjacks Brass for Gold (8 song EP) is out 11th February 2022.
